Advisory for Telangana minimum wages with effect from 01.06.2026

The Government of Telangana has issued the attached notification revising the minimum wages payable across all establishments under the Code on Wages, 2019. The revised wages come into effect from 1st June 2026.

Key highlights of the notification are as follows:

  • Revised Monthly Wages (Zone-wise): Fixation of wages for month-

The Minimum basic rates of wages fixed are linked to the Consumer Price Index numbers at 443 points (Base year 2001 =100 series).The Commissioner of Labour, Telangana, shall notify the cost of living allowance for every 6 months i.e 1st April and 1st October.

  • Cost of Living Allowance (VDA): Linked to CPI at 443 points. For every rise of one point, ₹33.86 per month will be added.
  • Compliance Conditions:
    • Wages must be disbursed electronically (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS).
    • Equal pay for male, female, transgender, and physically challenged employees performing identical work.
    • Overtime and holiday work to be compensated at double the normal wage rate.
    • Trainees to be paid at least 75% of the category wage, not less than unskilled minimum wage.
    • Contractors and service providers must also comply; principal employers are responsible for enforcement.
  • New Employments Covered: eCommerce & courier services, amusement parks, mobile tower maintenance, handcrafts, cane & bamboo industry, borewell drilling, RMC units, aluminium/tin product units, LPG storage & distribution agencies, among others.
