The General Administration Department of the Government of Kerala has officially announced its mandatory public holiday schedule for the calendar year 2027 under Notification No. G. O. (P) No. 22/2026/GAD. Issued in accordance with Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, this directive establishes the formal calendar framework for all public offices, banking institutions, and commercial establishments operating across the state.
To ensure continuous regulatory alignment, prevent payroll calculation friction, and manage resource availability effectively, organizations must immediately calibrate their internal HR management systems and shift rosters with this new regional calendar.
(Note: Certain key state observances – including Easter, Milad-i-Sherif, Independence Day, First Onam/Thiruvonam, Mahanavami, and Vijayadasami – fall directly on weekends in 2027 and are excluded from the standalone weekday public holiday list. The annual commercial bank closing remains applicable on April 1, 2027, strictly for banking corporations.)
