Regulatory Bulletins

Display of Bengali Language on top of all signboards – SGC Services

Hey everyone,

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation, under the Government of West Bengal, has issued a circular (No. 34 of 2025-26) regarding the display of Bengali language on top of all commercial signboards, including hoardings in West Bengal. The deadline for implementing this rule is September 30, 2025.

This means that all shops and businesses are required to prominently feature Bengali on their signages along with any other languages they use. This emphasizes the importance of the official language in the state.

So, if you own a business in West Bengal, make sure to update your signboards accordingly before the deadline. Let’s show our love for the Bengali language!

Cheers!

Thank you for reading. We hope the information was helpful to you!
